Grace Wildman
Editor-in-Chief

Grace Wildman is a fourth-year English, Creative Writing, and Editing student at uOttawa. She is grateful for the opportunity that Common House has given her to publish meaningful works with a passionate team, and she plans to continue working with authors and sharing her love for contemporary literature after she graduates.


Kylie Flynn
Managing Editor

Kylie Flynn is the Managing Editor of Common House, grateful for the three issues she’s helped bring to life with the magazine’s small but mighty team. She’s a fifth-year Psychology and English student at uOttawa, fascinated by people and the stories we tell to understand one another. While her cat patrols her drafts, Kylie works at an emergency shelter for survivors of gender-based violence, where each day is a testament to the power of stories and the voices that share them.


Heidi Elder
Senior Editor — No. 1 Wix Hater (Webmaster)

Heidi Elder (she/her) is a fourth-year English and Creative Writing student at the University of Ottawa. She has previously appeared on the mastheads of Understorey Magazine and the Riverview Park Review. You can find her work in Polar Expressions, Echolocation, The Artifice, and more.


Rob McPhalen
Senior Editor — Internal Affairs

Rob McPhalen is a fourth-year English and Creative Writing student  at uOttawa. He writes poetry and prose and has a particular liking for screenplays. His work is often horror-oriented, with a focus on psychologically-driven characters. Outside of reading and writing, he loves watching movies and hopes to make one of his own someday.


Amelia Simms
Senior Editor — Excel Specialist

Amelia Simms is a fourth-year English and Creative Writing student  at uOttawa. She writes poetry and prose, and she enjoys reading feel-good fantasy. In her spare time, she dabbles in any art form she can get her hands on, and she always strives to stay curious.

Mira Choueifaty
Junior Editor — Social Media Manager

Mira Choueifaty is a Lebanese writer and editor. She has a number of articles published on Trill Mag’s website. She is in the fourth year of her English degree, and hopes to write and publish her own book one day. Mira also loves watching Formula 1.


Leanna Dias
Junior Editor — Finances

Leanna Dias is a second-year English major with a minor in Russian Literature and Film. She loves to keep busy with the arts in all of its mediums like dance, photography, and writing.


Myeisha Dyer
Junior Editor

Myeisha Dyer is a second-year English student at uOttawa. She was a 2021 New York Times youth narrative finalist and her prose is soon to be published in Echolocation Magazine. In her spare time, she surrounds herself with cats and takes full advantage of her library card.


Sophie Robichaud
Junior Editor — Social Media Manager

Sophie Robichaud is a third-year English Literature student who loves diving into horror and dystopian novels, and Canadian Confederation poetry. She is also drawn to challenging works like Dante’s Inferno and Paradise Lost. After finishing her degree, she hopes to carry her passion for analysis and storytelling into the world of law.


Katrina Wilcox
Junior Editor — Event Coordinator

​Katrina Wilcox is a fourth-year English and Creative Writing student who spends most of their time reading, writing, or walking through the woods identifying edible plants. They’re the co-founder of flo. Literary Magazine, president of VERSe Ottawa, and junior editor of Common House. They function exclusively on sparkling water and coffee.


Alena Zalusky
Junior Editor — Secretary and Administrative Affairs

Alena Zalusky is a second-year English student at uOttawa with a minor in Professional Writing. In her spare time, she likes to cook, read, overanalyze fictional characters, and start (but never finish) various artistic projects.

Meaghan Boyd
Reader

Meaghan Boyd is a third-year History and Creative Writing student at uOttawa. Her love of writing was cultivated by comic books. Now, her focus lies mostly on poetry. Outside of reading and writing, Meaghan loves to dance, and pretend she has good taste in music (she does not).


Mathieu D’Amours
Reader

Mathieu D’Amours is in his first year of an English degree at uOttawa after doing one in Medieval Studies. He is a huge lover of stream-of-consciousness writing, he likes to play video games, and he holds the unofficial title of Subway’s Biggest Fan.


Milena Gareau
Reader

Milena Gareau is a Psychology and Creative Writing student. She loves all forms of art, and hopes to master as many as possible. Her work has appeared in Young Voices Magazine.


Amina Mansuar
Reader

Amina Mansuar is a second-year English student at the University of Ottawa. When she can bring herself to put down a book, it’s usually to café-hop and rate cappuccinos by their foam-milk-coffee ratios, daydream-debate her next travel destination, or defend her place in the top 0.01% of Pinterest users. One day, she hopes to be the second-best writer out of Egypt (after the untouchable Julian Fellowes).


Teagan Summers
Reader

Teagan Summers is a fourth-year English and Creative Writing student at the University of Ottawa. Her short stories have been published in Polar Expressions, Generation, and the Ottawa Public Library’s Potpourri anthology. She enjoys writing speculative fiction but reads all kinds of books. She hopes to publish her own novel someday.


Sasha Townsend
Reader

Sasha Townsend is a first-year English student at uOttawa. Her favourite pastime is writing poetry and drinking coffee in any comfy corner. She wishes to one day work in the publishing industry where it will be socially acceptable to make fictional literature her whole personality.
