A Carpenter Ant Survives the Industrial Accident
Sini Rajantie
Sunflash panes
rise in rows
on the other
side. A stitched
façade gleams
like the hi-vis
vests on ants,
now teeming,
watching one fall.
He reflects sun-
stripes and my
glass-stuck eye
he draws down.
The pavement-
bound body is a
leaf, snow, ash,
is anything but
the cradled son.
